Better product information to help customers

Dahl Finland is one of Finland’s leading HVAC wholesalers and part of the international Saint-Gobain construction product group. Dahl’s selection includes tens of thousands of different product titles. To manage, store, and share product information, Dahl needed a smart system. The Akeneo EE product information management solution produced by Bonsky will grow and develop according to Dahl’s individual needs.

– Saint-Gobain has a total of approximately 180 000 employees.  We operate in 67 different countries, says Dahl Finland’s Marketing Manager and the owner of the PIM project Sanna Salminen.

Agile and light solution

There was a great need for a new and centralized product information management system. The aim was to make the process of enriching product information more efficient and at the same time to facilitate electronic transactions. There are a very large number of different product titles, so the solution had to be very agile.

– We wanted a handy tool so that we could produce, store and share better and better product information for our customers. We also want to be an HVAC company that serves its customers extremely well in this respect, Salminen emphasizes.

– Akeneo was chosen as the system in our PIM project, and we have been very pleased with it. We have also been pleased with the way Bonsky handled the implementation of the system, Salminen says.

According to Salminen, Bonsky was selected as the implementer, because they were able to clearly identify the professionals who would be involved in the implementation. The choice was also influenced by Bonsky’s comprehensive expertise. In addition to technical expertise, Bonsky employees also had professional skills in project management, customer perspective and service development.

– It seemed that Bonsky understood the needs of our industry extremely well. They realized that this is a slightly more traditional industry and they were able to identify the requirements of our business. What was essential was that we were able to focus on things that are relevant to business, Salminen says.

– In workshops and customer surveys, for example, Bonsky also provided their own expertise and insight to such business support issues, Salminen continues.

Extensive expertise makes Bonsky a good partner

According to Salminen, the most tangible benefit of the PIM project is that Dahl now has a very agile system that will meet the needs of the business in the future as well. The solution itself is light.

– With this project, we can make product information available to customers in a completely different way than before. It makes our customers’ day-to-day life easier when choosing products. Of course, this also facilitates the work of our salespeople, when product information can be presented digitally, Salminen says.
